West Yorkshire County Netball Association is a member of England Netball and one of 4 counties situated in the Yorkshire Region. It is a voluntary organisation, reliant on membership fees and subscriptions and is administered by an elected group of passionate and dedicated volunteers. Details of who all these volunteers are can be found in Our Team.
England Netball employ a Netball Development Officer (NDO) to support the County and to be responsible for some of the development programmes, in conjunction with key partners, in West Yorkshire. These include, though not exclusively, the Club Action Planning Scheme (CAPS), developing new junior clubs, working with further and higher education, finance and increasing participation, education and training, communication and marketing. Our key aims are to:
- Support the development, delivery and growth of netball within the County, ensuring it is carried out in a safe, equitable and inclusive manner.
- Act as an ambassador for all authorised and recognised netball activity and promote events, products and programmes within the County and the local area
- Organise and deliver a programme of competition and events
- Support the strategic planning of coaching courses, officiating courses and assessments
- Manage the county element of the Performance Pathway, satellite and county academies
- Recruit, train and deploy volunteers
