Winter School Games 2014Congratulations to Woodhouse Grove School who came out victorious at the West Yorkshire Winter School Games year 7 netball finals at Leeds Metropolitan University on Friday 14th March. The day saw the culmination of district tournaments come to a head to crown the West Yorkshire champions, Woodhouse Grove representing Leeds battled it out with Crossley Heath representing Calderdale, Wakefield Girls High School representing Wakefield and King James's School representing Kirklees.
The tournament was played out in great spirit with all teams showcasing their skills and why they are the best in their district. Each school should be proud of their team for their hard work and determination to play through the multiple games with only a quick stop to take part in the Chris Tomlinson long jump challenge. Following a round robin competition Woodhouse Grove were declared champions with King James's coming in second place with Wakefield Girls High coming third and Crossley Heath finishing fourth. Woodhouse Grove and King James's now progress to the Regional School Games final for year 7 netball in Hull on Wednesday 30th April. Good luck to both teams and let's hope one of them can be crowned Yorkshire champions. |
