West Yorkshire Netball are responsible for the management of any ‘Into Officiating’ and ‘C’ Award courses. This involves working closely with the Yorkshire Region on the planning of these courses. From time to time we may organise other workshops and conferences.
The Yorkshire Region take on the responsibility for the management of ‘B’ Award courses and Technical Officials courses. England Netball undertake responsibility for the ‘A’ Award and the training of Tutors & Assessors for all levels. The County are currently offering financial support, by way of Bursaries, primarily for those wishing to take their Officiating Awards but will also give consideration to attendances at Conferences and Workshops. - Know and apply the rules in a more demanding game environment
- Use recommended hand signals to illustrate decisions made
- Apply Match Protocols
- Apply advantage where appropriate
- Expand on vision, positioning and movement skills
- Demonstrate the difference between Contact that does or does not interfere with play
- Utilise effective Game Management techniques
- Understand the requirements to progress along the officials pathway

The A Award Umpire course gives umpires a clearer insight into technical aspects of umpiring, including rules and interpretations on obstruction, contact, advantage and umpire protocols.
